How choosing a ring works here

Most people start online and finish in person. That is how we set things up. Browse the settings above, tap the heart on any you like, and they go into your saved list. When you book a viewing, the list comes with your request. We have those settings ready in Suite 805, plus a few lab grown center stones that fit your shape, size and budget.

Nothing is charged on this site. The prices shown are starting points so you can plan. Your final price depends on the center diamond you choose, the metal and your ring size. You get a written price for the exact ring before you decide anything.

Start with the setting or the stone

There is no wrong order. Some people fall for a setting first and then find a diamond to suit it. Others know they want a 2 carat oval and pick a setting around it. Settings start from $990, and a 1 ct round lab grown center starts from about $640. If you want to see the stones first, tell us what you have in mind on our loose lab diamond request page and we will pull matches for your visit.

Shapes we set

Shape changes the whole look of a ring. It decides how the stone sparkles, how big it looks for its weight and how it sits on the finger. Every setting we make can hold any of these shapes as the center, with the prongs adjusted to fit.

  • Round: the most sparkle of any shape, and it suits every setting.
  • Oval: a long, soft outline that looks large for its carat weight.
  • Emerald cut: long step facets with a calm, glassy flash.
  • Cushion: rounded corners and big, slow flashes of light.
  • Pear: a teardrop that lengthens the finger.
  • Radiant: cut corners with brilliant sparkle.
  • Princess: a crisp square with lots of fire.
  • Marquise: pointed at both ends, with a vintage feel.

If you are torn between two, our guide to lab diamond shapes compares them side by side. It is even better to see them next to each other on the tray. Shapes that look alike in photos can feel very different on a hand.

Ring styles

The style is the design around the center stone. These are the ones people ask for most:

  • Solitaire: one diamond on a plain or lightly set band.
  • Halo: a frame of small diamonds that makes the center look bigger.
  • Hidden halo: a thin row of diamonds tucked under the center, seen from the side.
  • Three stone: a center diamond with a smaller stone on each side.
  • Toi et moi: two stones side by side, often in two different shapes.

Want something that is not here? Many rings we make start as an idea, a photo or a sketch. Our custom engagement ring process takes you from a first drawing to a finished ring.

Metals

We make settings in 14k gold, 18k gold and platinum. Gold comes in yellow, white and rose.

  • 14k gold is harder and costs less than 18k. A good choice for everyday wear.
  • 18k gold has a richer color, most noticeable in yellow.
  • Platinum is dense and naturally white. It costs more, and it holds prongs very securely.

White gold is usually plated with rhodium for a bright white finish. Over time that plating wears and can be renewed. Platinum does not need it. If the band will sit next to a wedding band, it helps to choose both in the same metal.

Every center stone is graded

Our lab grown center diamonds come with a grading report from IGI or GIA. The report lists the shape, carat, color, clarity and, for rounds, the cut grade. Most stones are also laser inscribed on the girdle with the report number. At your viewing we show you that inscription under magnification, so you can see the paper matches the stone. If the grades feel like a lot to take in, start with the 4Cs for lab grown diamonds.

What a viewing is like

Viewings are private and by appointment, upstairs at 30 West 47th St, Suite 805. You sit at a table, not a counter. We bring out your saved settings and a few stones, and you try combinations on your hand. Bring a partner, a friend or just yourself. If the ring is a surprise, we can help with sizing ideas too. Book a viewing online, or call (732) 581-7932 if you would rather talk it through first.

Questions we hear

Anything else, ask us at your viewing or call (732) 581-7932.

Can I buy an engagement ring on this website?

No. The site shows styles and starting prices so you can plan. Every ring is chosen and bought in person at our showroom after you have seen it on your hand.

How long does it take to get my ring after I choose it?

It depends on the setting, the metal and whether the stone is already here. We give you a date for your exact ring when you choose it.

Do I need to know my ring size before I visit?

No. We size you at the viewing. If the ring is a surprise, see our ring size guide for ways to find a size quietly.

Can I see a lab grown diamond next to a mined one?

We specialize in lab grown diamonds, so the stones on the tray are lab grown. Each one comes with its grading report so you can compare grades directly.
