Custom Engagement Rings in NYC

Bring a photo, a sketch or just an idea. We turn it into a CAD design, show you a model, and set your chosen lab grown diamond in the finished ring.

How a custom ring is made

From idea to ring in four steps

You approve each step before the next one starts. We give you a date at the design visit.

1

Design visit

Bring photos, sketches or a ring you love. We talk shape, metal, budget and how it will be worn.

2

CAD design

Your ring is drawn in CAD so you can see it from every side and ask for changes before anything is made.

3

Model and approval

A model of the design lets you check proportions on your hand. Nothing is finished until you approve it.

4

Setting and finishing

Your chosen lab grown diamond is set, polished and checked, then waits for you in Suite 805.

Start with whatever you have

You do not need a finished idea to begin a custom ring. Some people arrive with a sketch on a napkin. Others bring ten screenshots that do not quite agree with each other. Some only know they want something no one else has. All of that works. The design visit is where we sort it out together.

Things that help if you have them:

  • Photos of rings you like, and a note on what you like about each one
  • Photos of rings you do not like, which are often just as useful
  • A ring size, or a ring that fits the right finger (our ring size guide has a few quiet ways to find one)
  • A rough budget for the whole ring, so we can balance the setting and the stone
  • Any family stones or details you want to include

The choices that shape a ring

A custom engagement ring comes down to a handful of decisions. We will walk you through each one with samples in hand, so you are reacting to real metal and real stones, not words.

  • Center shape. Round, oval, emerald, pear, cushion, radiant, princess or marquise. Each changes the whole look. Our shapes guide compares them.
  • Setting style. A plain solitaire, a hidden halo, a three stone, a toi et moi, or something new.
  • Prongs and profile. Four or six prongs, claw or round tips, and how high the stone sits above the finger.
  • Band. Width, shape, plain or pavé, and whether it needs to sit flush with a wedding band later.
  • Metal. 14k or 18k yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum.
  • Small details. Milgrain edges, a hidden stone, an engraving inside the band.

CAD and the model

Once the main choices are set, the design is drawn in CAD. You see it from every side, at true scale, with your chosen stone size. This is the moment to ask for changes: a thinner band, a lower setting, a slightly different prong. Changes at this stage are easy.

When the CAD looks right, a physical model is made so you can hold it and try it on. A drawing on a screen can look bigger or smaller than the real thing. The model shows you exactly how the ring sits on your hand. Nothing moves to metal until you approve it.

Choosing the center stone

The center diamond is chosen separately, in person. Tell us the shape and size range and we pull three to five lab grown stones with IGI or GIA reports for you to compare side by side. You can also start on our loose diamond request page and we will have stones waiting at your design visit. The setting is then finished around the exact stone you picked, so the prongs fit it closely.

Timeline and price

Every design is different, so we do not quote a standard number of weeks. We give you a date at the design visit, once we know what the ring involves. If you have a proposal date in mind, tell us early and we will say honestly whether it works.

Custom settings start from $990, before the center stone. The final price depends on the metal, the amount of detail, any side stones and the diamond you choose. You will see the full price before anything is made.

Questions we hear

Anything else, ask us at your viewing or call (732) 581-7932.

Can you copy a ring from a photo?

We can design a ring inspired by a photo and adjust it to your stone and hand. We will not copy another designer's trademarked or signature piece exactly.

Is there a deposit for a custom ring?

Ask us at your design visit. We explain how payment works for custom pieces before any work begins, and nothing is charged online.

Can I use a diamond I already own?

Often, yes. Bring it to the design visit and we will look at it and talk through what setting suits it.

Can I make a matching wedding band at the same time?

Yes. Designing both together is the easiest way to make sure the band sits well against the engagement ring.
